About
Future Fund Oman (FFO) is the Oman Investment Authority's roughly OMR 2 billion ($5.2 billion) sovereign fund, launched by royal directive in January 2024 to back FDI-scale projects, SMEs and startups across tourism, industry, green energy, ICT, ports/logistics, mining, fisheries and agriculture. Ninety percent of capital funds direct commercial projects, while 7% is earmarked for SMEs and 3% for startups, channeled through partners including Tanmia, ITHCA Group, Omantel and Cyfr Capital. Publicly disclosed startup-stage backing includes Q-Pay (BNPL), Bima (digital insurance) and the IO Kitchen cloud-kitchen platform.
