About
Enza Capital is a Nairobi-headquartered, multi-stage venture fund backing technology founders solving large problems across Sub-Saharan Africa and Egypt, investing from pre-seed through Series B (with follow-on capacity to $20M via Enza Growth Capital) in fintech, logistics, human capital, education, energy/climate, cybersecurity and healthcare. First checks typically run $250K–$5M, and the firm prefers to lead or co-lead rounds and take board or observer seats; from Fund I it made follow-on investments in 12 of 23 backed companies. Enza closed $58M across its funds in September 2023 and simultaneously launched a Founder Partner Program making backed founders co-owners of the firm itself. Co-Founder and Managing Partner Mike Mompi previously invested at the Global Innovation Fund; General Partner John Lazar was formerly CEO of Sequoia- and Francisco Partners-backed Metaswitch Networks.
