Have You Crossed the VAT Threshold?

Enter your monthly turnover. This applies the rolling twelve-month test and dates the deadline that followed.

Your taxable supplies, month by month

Fill in as many months as you have — twelve is the minimum the test needs. You can paste a column straight from a spreadsheet into any box. Nothing is sent anywhere.

Not enough months yet

The mandatory test looks back over twelve months. You have entered 0, totalling AED 0.00. Add 12 more and this will compute every rolling window.

The rolling twelve-month VAT test, explained

How the test works, why taxable supplies are not revenue, and how many months it needs.

How does the rolling twelve-month test work?

It totals your taxable supplies across each rolling twelve-month window and reports the month at whose end the total first exceeded the mandatory registration threshold. The result cites the instrument the threshold comes from, and dates the application window from the end of that month.

Are taxable supplies the same as my revenue?

No, and this is the part the tool cannot decide for you. Which of your supplies are taxable depends on what you sell and to whom — zero-rated, exempt and out-of-scope supplies are treated differently. Enter taxable supplies, not total revenue, or the answer will be wrong in your favour.

How many months do I need to enter?

Twelve is the minimum the test needs. With fewer, the tool says how many you have given and how many it needs, rather than computing a partial total and presenting it as a position.

Why is there no chart when I have only entered twelve months?

A rolling total only exists once twelve months are filled, so twelve months of history produces one point and thirteen produces two. Two points are not a trend, so the tool says what is missing instead of drawing a line that would read as one.

The deadline it shows has already passed. What now?

The tool reports the date the application window closed based on the figures you entered; it does not assess penalties or your registration status. That is a conversation with a tax agent, and the figures you have just entered are the right starting point for it.

Is anything I enter stored or sent anywhere?

No. The tool runs entirely in your browser. Nothing you type is uploaded, saved to an account, or sent to Finanshels unless you separately choose to contact us.

Is this tax advice?

No. It is an informational tool that states published dates and figures against what you entered. Whether an obligation binds your business turns on facts a form does not see — your entity type, where you are registered, and how your revenue is measured for each test. Finanshels is an FTA-registered tax agency and can advise you properly; this page cannot.
